Stag front sight post and optic height?

I have a Stag 1R with the ole carryhandle, handguard and front sight post...

I'd like to (finally) go to an optic...does the front sight post height occlude or otherwise interfere with a scope?

The post looks pretty high compared to the rail height.

The mount I'd like to use is a Larue LT-104.

Is removing the front sight post difficult? Looks like its pinned in pretty damn good...

If you use an optic with magnification front sight won't be an issue.

If you want to remove the front sight you have to get a gas block - get one that can be pinned. You can also shave the factory front sight as well.

Another option is to get a free floated handguard (LaRue / DD) to name a few. A 9" handguard will cover the gas block.

If you want iron sights with that set up a decent set of Troy folding sights will round up the package nicely.
