In the new Guns and Ammo which arrived today Stag is promoting their new piston driven AR at a MSRP of US.$989.00. Ruger has a MSRP on theirs of $2,189.00.

Wonder when & if the Stag will ever come to Canada and a what price now the the Loonie is airborne again?
 
I saw an advert for the piston AR in a magazine. I don't know much about the diff between the two systems, though I imagine that the piston wouldn't need as much cleaning.

Anyone have experience shooting both? is there a recoil difference?
 
So why are we buying pistons ARs again? Has anyone had a huge problem with there normal AR? Does anyone remember piston guns like the C1 rifle and it jamming? does anyone know that you still must clean a piston gun? Finally does anyone why no army or SF unit uses them ;)
