Can someone provide any more info on these companies including history, QC done, size of shops, etc. Which one is the biggest? What parts do they make themselves? Are they just basically machine shops with a few, or hundreds of employees perhaps? Any pictures of their shops by chance? Educate please. Thx.

For Stag Arms, history and virtual tour can be found at

http://www.continentalmachinetool.com/

Stag Arms is CMT's house brand established in 2003. CMT have been manufacturing AR-15/M16 rifles and assemblies since 1974 and continue to supply US DOD contractors.

There is a pic of some of their assemblies still in the white. Basically they manufacture and assemble ALL components inhouse (and across the street) other than the barrel (ER Shaw) and detachable rear sights (ARMS).

As a DOD supplier/manufacturer, they have the TDP, which should make even the kool-aid drinkers happy. ;)

i love to spread TDP on my toasts in the morning. Nothing better than TDP and toasts with some orange juice!

What's TDP?

It's like Marmite. But 6% tastier.

The M16 Technical Data Package (and M4 addenum) is the official, classified, technical dimensions, materials, etc data package for Uncle Sams rifles.

The TDP is also the main flavour enhancer behind a certain brand of koo-aid. ;)

Walter from ArmsEast told me that Rock River Arms also gets most of their parts from CMT. I've got a Stag 1R on the way!

JNG, you did ask me if Stag manufactures RRA. Stag Arms does not manufacture RRA.

Rumour control. CMT does build the RRA upper and lower receivers (built to RRAs specs and supplied technical data). I believe other than the trigger, CMT may do the RRA LPK as well. That's as far as it goes, AFAIK.

Stag and RRA receivers are not dimensionally identical, though the finish anodizing would likely be.

CMT also subcontracts for Smith & Wesson, Noveske, Colt and others. With S&W, basically the whole rifle (minus the T model with Troy rails and detachable sights).

Stag makes Stag. RRA makes RRA.

Ya that's always been the knock for RRA on arfcom. They don't have the TDP. But the question I wanna ask is who other than Stag and Colt have the TDP and the kicker is who actually 100% follows it?

And BTW Dlask DEFINATELY does not have it!

Is this RRA TDP mainly about the M4 ramp thingy? I seen a thread on ar15 recently about it. So many posts on that site, it is hard to find again or search sometimes in general.

that and their old but fixed issue of out of spec rails, there is a tdp for 1913 rails, that they never followed. Also the use of chrome moly barrels instead of there harder to find chrome lined...... but that's not a knock, they offer so many different configurations at great prices, SS 1/8, CM,CL, if you need all those civy spec options....... they just don't use the M16/M4 TDP which is the real mil spec...... well 16" 1/9 stag isn't mil m4 either but we know why.

that brings my Q to Walter, are you going to have the Limited edition 14.5" 1/7.....if there are any?

Oh ya G22 ,arfcom is very hard to navigate, and they want you to pay a membership to search archives....... that's why this site is the shizzle, we just miss some info now and then

For US shooters, a 14.5"+pinned 1.5" FH= 16" non-SBR.

For export, pinned/welded doesn't count, it's an SBR, so no CIV end use exports.

For LEO/MIL end users, we sell the 1R with the M4 14.5" MP 4150 Chrome Lined barrel. Also my personal rifle. ;)

Edit to add to avoid new thread: Canadian market Stag rifles are available in 1/7 or 1/9, by pre-order through your local dealer.

But surely you import some upper assemblies seperately. My understanding was once that shortie upper is attached to the lower then you have to classify it SBR in the states. but any civy can buy one but not put it together. I've never tried a export cert on a shortie upper yet. That's my next import.

Your edit there is great news!!!! Let me know if i'm wrong but won't that be the only factory 1/7 complete AR available in Canada!!! Geeze I want a STAG, ........ ever notice the resemblace to the logo on Jagrmeister?
another reason to buy STAG!!!!!
