I just put together a Stag10 upper. Not my first AR build, but yes, my first Stag10 build.
Used a Ballistic Advantage 20" heavy barrel, Brownell's nitride BCG, and am checking with Clymer 308 go/no-go gauge set.
Removed extractor and ejector, bolt closes and locks up just fine with finger pressure.
With either of the gauges...no closing or locking up, and it gets bunged up tight enough to have to smack the stock on the ground to retract the bolt again.
However, with any of my dummy rounds that I use to set up my dies, bolt closes and locks up just fine, again, with finger pressure. I am certainly not damaging the brass or pushing back the shoulder.
My initial googling came up with a similar issue with Clymer gauges and a Faxon barrel...fix was to use Forster gauges as Faxon recommends, which, for at least one poster, was a 'fix'.
Thoughts? Should I be seeing if I can track down a different set of gauges?

Yes, I did reach out Ballistic Advantage, but haven't heard back from them yet.
