Can anyone in CGN land take some measurements of their carbine length .308 buffer spring for me? I'm having some issues with my Stag10 build using a 7" mil-spec buffer tube with a Brownells AR10 carbine spring and buffer and Brownells bcg. The problem is the spring is bottoming out short(buffer not contacting back of tube) and bolt stops about 1/2" short of bolt catch. The spring is 10 3/4"long 28 coils and coil diameter is .072 which is the exact same as my current AR-15. I'm wondering if my spring was in the wrong package maybe?

Your buffer is probably too long. If using a standard AR15 carbine receiver extension, you will need a buffer that is slightly shorter than a typical AR15 carbine buffer.

Yup...same issue with Armaspec captured spring...had to switch to a shorter buffer tube...or put in spacer. Psa pa10 buffer tube about 1.5 inch too long

Ok, here's what I have, which should work:

Brownells .308 Carbine buffer (3.8oz):078-000-342WB
JP Polished .308 carbine spring (11¾"): 452-000-152WB
UBR "a5/custom" tube.

So I do need the spacer that came with the UBR.

As for OP... it seems you'd need everthing to be 'rifle' length for your setup to work. Try getting a rifle length spring first and cycle it.
