Fragging came to the forefront during the Viet Nam war. Hard to believe it was a new phenomena, betting an unpopular officer got a bullet in the back more often than we realize. Father told the story of a guy who put one of those on top of his helmet and detonated it , on a bet. guy survived but it deafened him.
