Stages from the 22LR PRS World championships I think

If this is new style of matches going forward, things will get much harder for super high scores.

With alot more emphasis on shooters abilities.

Faster par times, smaller targets with some closer distances. Just the closer distance will make it easier for some ranges to hold events. Instead of 6 or 8" at 100 yards, 3" from the same positions? I agree, it will be a better test of skill and I believe you will see more separation and even less reliance on the timed stage tie breaker as I believe it will be needed less.

The longest stage in Italy is 220 yards, give or take? This still let's the wind be a huge factor, but the smaller targets than what we're used to here just adds to it. I look forward to seeing the results.

This is billed as the world championship. These target sizes are generally 1/2 MOA smaller that what I’ve seen at matches this year. One CRPS I shot was 90 sec par times, which is what the local league in Ont does I think.

I'm not see any Mapleseed stages mixed in there. What's up with that.

You are referring to unsupported (aka offhand) shooting positions? My impression is that its prevalence here emanates from one Canadian individual in an influential position, rather than a pillar inherent to the sport itself.

Yes, that is what I understand. 2 completely different disciplines. If I wanted to shoot 3-position I could just go do that. I was intentionally being facetious.

What .22lr matches are you going that use 1/2moa targets? The vast majority of targets in Italy were 0.6-0.7mil (2.1-2.4moa), with the smallest being a 0.4mil (1.4moa) target at 107 yards.
