stainless laminate Tikkas?

i view DMs as a downgrade (on hunting rifles) ever since i discovered you can load a hinged floorplate rifle just by dumping cartridges in and snapping it shut

add a spare mag and youre nearly up to a grand... for a Tikka? :runaway:

You have to load and unload a hinged floorplate everytime. Magazines you remove with a simple click and you only load once and do not need to unload the magazine. If you want to call that a downgrade.....

However, with that being said, I think the T3 laminate is still pretty light in a 7mm Rem....

Wouldn't the laminate be a fair bit heavier than the tupperware T3?

.

That was my thought...it would be a better choice over the synthetic in 7 RM, and I like DM's, so that's how I started toying with the idea of a Tikka. IMHO floorplates and blind mags are dumb.

What else can you get in a stainless laminate that has DM, in a 7RM, or 300 WSM?

Sako...

BTW Tikka made laminate/stainless models with a DM, before the T3 came along...

The website says they are all the same weight, but the laminated model is heavier, it's more or a standard weight gun.

Very nice looking, most if not all are shooters.

I have a 300 WM in the Laminate Stainless Tikka. Definately more weight to it than my Blue/Syn 6.5 X 55.

Handles awesome and heavy enough to help "calm down" magnum recoil.

Have not regreted spending the extra money.

Correct, and a better rifle, i have two. That's the way to go Warren, find a nice used Whitetail M695.
I found mine in 270 and my sons in 308 both on the EE

Hope you can drop in on your way down from PG, i'll be there on the 17th before noon.

Love my Tikka T3 LS - both in 270WSM and a buddy has it in the 300WSM. Great shooters. Would highly reccomend it. If you can afford it a Sako Greywolf would be sweet too (I have one that was a new 25-06 but getting new barrel 338-06AI)!
But for the $$$, the Tikkas are great.

have the Tikka T3 lite in .223 cal and got this because the rem 700 sps was just way too heavy. very accurate. got the 6 shot mag. i'm happy.

I got a Tikka T3 LS in .22-250 and its a shooter. Great rifle for the money and you won't be disappointed for the extra cost over the T3 Lite. I'm rather fond of having a DM as well.

My girlfriend's SS/L T3 in .308 is frustratingly accurate to outshoot with any big game rifle I load for. I won't even try to improve hers - it's sub 1/2" groups with Hornady Light Mag ammo, not typically noted for it's accuracy and the Zeiss it wears didn't hurt either. The extra stock weight makes it a low recoil dream to shoot, and if 1700 ft/lbs at 400 yards isn't enough in a .30 caliber rifle then go home.
