I have pretty much decided that for my precision rifle I want to start off with a 243 wssm, in a Winchester m70 and modify as the pocket book allows. I have found a used m70 coyote. The add says that it has a stainless barrel, will the action be stainless as well? I like the idea s/s but will it make things harder down the road as I modify the gun for more competitive shooting?
 
I have a model 70 stainless 30-06. the whole thing is stainless, kicks ass no rust problems ever.
 
Me personally I would go with stainless. If you want to paint/coat it down the road you have the option at least. Duracoat works very well. Just did a rifle and it was very easy, also pleased with the results.
