I can't remember the last time a stainless Python for sale in the EE forum - people are selling only the blued ones - why?? what is the current value for a matt stainless?

Why don't you insert a " Wanted...Stainless matt Python..Price no object" thread in EE, and we'll all find out!;)

I like stainless in semi-autos but blued in revolvers. A blued revolver looks classy and easier to clean.

It's only easier to clean because it hides the dirt!
ALL revolvers are a PIA to clean IMHO.....:)

Me too but there's nothing better looking than the Bluing on a Python! Check out the one on Strangeday's post.

Although the 686 is mighty pretty with those grips.
Oh... my... Now that is what I call amazing!

I was told Colt's Royal Blue was probably the best blue you could ever go with in production quality. Agreed, blued does look good, but I also have a spot in my heart for Stainless as well. Beautiful gun. Certainly lives up to the title of "Cadillac of Revolvers."

I wonder how much a 6" Colt Python, custom, would fetch out of the custom shop? If anyone knows, PM me, I'm looking to buy one. Hell, I might as well save up and buy two!

I have one, a 6", apparently made in the first year of production. It has the old style fully checkered grips and the old sights. I didn't know the Python was made in stainless. The Anaconda yes but the Python???

It's a tough call, I think I prefer the blue thoughh, mainly because it's easier to keep clean. The Ulitmate SS is beautiful unless you touch the gun!

Left to right: 38spl Diamondback, 45LC Anaconda brushed SS, Python Ultimate SS, Python Royal Blue (my 22lr Diamondback is currently being rebarreled from 4" to 6")

Sorry to ask one of those questions I probably should already know the answer to. But how can one tell the difference from Royal Blued and the regular?
