Is there a diff in these two types of finish on handguns as far as accuracy ?
I read somewhere that there is.
Is there any other negative factors with a stainless handgun ?

i dont see how the finish of a slide can effect accuracy of a gun. the only benefit I see on my stainless kimbers is it hides holster wear much better. Since the wear areas are silver you can hardly see em. If the gun was blued (black) the silver wear areas would stick out like a swore thumb. Someone else chime in that knows something, I dont know ####.

makes no difference for accuracy...

but as mentioned with stainless you don't have to worry about bluing wear...I always buy stainless if availabe ;)

after thousands of rounds it will make a diff. the carbon steel fit between slide and frame will hold longer than stainless. if an inch is a big deal to you, then go with the steel. even LES BAER doesnt give a guaranttee to their stainless same as the steele

Wow, so there is some truth to it ! Thank you for the info

The Stainless is a softer steel than the Carbon steel. As a result, it will start to gaul if fitted tightly, rather than polish the surface it's wearing on.
