Standard Weaver upper scope ring installation tip

Many of you will recognize scratches on the tube of a scope when the upper ring of a Weaver mount was snapped in place.
The same thing happens when they are removed too.
The instructions are clear . . . use a piece of paper between the ring and the scope.
Better yet are one of the new plastic CDN bills. Virtually lubricated and they won't tear.

Small piece of plywood and a rubber/dead blow hammer.
Lay that scratch'in top half culprit on it belly side down and give it a rap.
Rap it until it stretches and goes over the scope tube without touching.
Then don't over tighten the goll dang screws.

Then do the same to the t'other one..............
