Gentlemen,

I am. In need of wisdom.

I have been watching the vids I can find and reading the information available.
It is a discipline I would like to get into.

If you do it, have done it or want to do it, please post up relevant materials that could assist.
Tips of the trade.
Best way to cultivate the bolt flick.
Sources of matches or events held by clubs in Alberta.

I have been unable to locate sauer STR rifles, are they still in production?
Costings?

Let me know what you have for info that isn't below.

AFAIK, there is nothing like the Norwegian rifle matches held in Canada as far as I know.

I have used and practiced the trigger technique they use in these matches. It takes getting used to but is pretty darn quick.
They grip the bolt with their thumb/index finger and use either their middle finger or next finger as the trigger finger.

I was in Norway in the mid 1990s and shot one of their practice matches using the Sauer STR 200 rifle in 6.5 X 55 Swede. It was a great experience!!! The STR 200 is a very nice rifle and the open sights are great. IIRC, I did price out one of these rifles when I got back home and it was around the $2000.00 Cdn mark back in 1995.
