Hello all,
A few years ago I saved an old Star Model B from being surrendered for destruction. It was not looked after very well and some of the bluing is missing and there is some light pitting on the slide. I have taken it to the range twice and was very impressed at its accuracy and the nice crisp trigger. It is certainly a fun pistol to shoot, but I am more interested in learning the history of it. I know the background of star pistols, but I am looking to date it (figure out if it was a war manufacture, or post-war, etc).
All of the parts are stamped with the last 3 digits of the serial number and all are matching.

3 magazine, 2 of which are stamped with the serial number.

What appears to be an original holster

What is clearly a more recent manufacture, but still interesting, shoulder holster.

Any information you may have would be much appreciated. Any comments or questions are also welcomed.
