Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) carries a 9mm Star Model B throughout the film. While visually the Star Model B is almost identical to Vincent's (John Travolta) .45 Auto Ordnance 1911 it is a much rarer pistol of Spanish manufacture. Despite this rarity the Star Model B can generally be had for a third the price of a Auto Ordnance 1911 of similar condition, and would have been much less expensive than Vincent's (John Travolta) chromed and pearl gripped Auto Ordnance 1911.

I want a 9mm when I pass my RAPL and I really liked Jules gun off Pulp Fiction. Anybody have an idea of the price? Exact same model with pearl grip.

Not familiar with the gun in the movie but I've had a couple Star Model B's over the years. Blued with wood grips. The first one I had would shoot circles around a Colt Series 80 Government 9mm I also had at the time. They are actually a very well made single stack 9mm semi-auto.

This was the last Star B I had... but sold it in the EE about 1 1/2 years ago:

For a blued/wood grip one in decent shape you'll probably pay ~ $350'ish. Might be a PIA to find extra mags for it though. They are particular to the pistol & regular 1911 mags won't work.

Gave up my last "B" when I acquired this "BM" which is the compact version of it. On the mag issue, even the "B" mags are not interchangable with the "BM" model.

Thanks for the help. So I am guessing it is an older gun? 1911 style but a little different? Great pictures, I am sure there are enough people here to get all the information I need:cool: I hear they are accurate with very little recoil as well. I like.

The star model B's came to canada as surplus from the west german border police with holster and spare magazines. These guns were used because the russians wouldn't allow german made guns to be used. Thats also why there are french made P1 pistols here.

I have both a Star Modelo B and a BM. Both are good solid performers, the only negative I can think of with the Modelo B is that it tends to bite the hand that feeds it. Yes, I get hammer bite. The photo is of my BDM that was gussied up by a local gunsmith (now deceased) and wears a pair of Hakan grips. Regards, Richard:)

Here's some good info/history etc on the Star Model "B"....

While I've had good luck with Star Model B's and I wouldn't hesitate getting another under the right circumstances I am with Hitzy, if you want a 1911 style single stack in 9mm get a real deal 1911.

The Star B is not a 1911 'clone'... it looks like a 1911 but interally is much different. I doubt there is one part that is interchangable.

Good pistols & they have their niche.... but not for everyone.

I would not go for a gun because it was used in a movie. Besides the Star could become a 38/9mm with the 38 meaning 38Super for a lot came into Cdn back in the 70s.
