Quite a few years back while I was in the Canadian Reserves, we used to have "starlight" scopes on our c7's. Are these scopes available to the public? Where can one find them? Thanks, -Jason

"Starlight" scope is sort of a nickname. The technology is usually called passive night vision or image intensifying. You might find military ones available on the civilian market as surplus - I think there is no regulation against them - but they will probably not be cheap, and since there is probably nowhere in Canada that one can hunt at night, and even target shooting at night is problematic, they can be an expensive dust collector for your shelf.

There are new night vision devices with this technology, made by Bushnell, Weaver, and probably others. They aren't gun sights, but they are available from some Canadian retailers, including SIR Mail Order that I know of.
