I just received 100 Starline brass, chambered in the 25-06 for my new build. I decided to clean the flash-holes with my manual reimer. I tried the 25 Cal. mandrel in the neck of the case, it would not fit. I then tried a couple of other cases, still didn't fit. (tight necks) I then full length resized it and tried the mandrel again, results were perfect.

I resized 50 cases and will continue the remainging 50 tomorrow. This is not a complaint, only a FYI. They appear to be nice brass however, I haven't given it the full consistent measurements test, weight and length size.

If I went ahead and developed loads without noticing the tight necks; pressure, velocity and accuracy would be most inconsistent from further developments.

Hey Track.
I noticed that when I first bought them also.
Their website says ready to load but the necks often have burs etc.
I trim and full length resize all my new brass now

Hey guys…I bought 250 cases of 6.5CM (large primer) and just ran them AS IS into my Dillon 550. Did a pile with Speer 90gTNT and a bunch with 123g Hornady SST, both loads fuelled by Varget. All 3 HB Tikkas do 1/2MOA @ 100 yards. So impressed with the brass and redults that I bought an additional 1000 pieces. Figure I’ll get at least 6-8 reloads from this lot before I have to think about trimming case length. I’m running about 1.5g below book maxs so not balls to the walls. Initially, I was sceptical about all the glowing reports of Starline brass but personal testing has impressed me, it’s not that far behind Lapua brass, which is my ultimate benchmark.

I've had the odd dented case mouth but they're packaged in a bag so cant expect them to not get dented. I've had great experience with starline brass
Im not a good enough shooter to see a difference in brands of brass but starline seems to stay shiner longer

How do you find the length of the cases after sizing? I have an assortment of once fired brass and it varies quite a bit from brand to brand. Winchester I have found to be the best/longest for consistency.

Shooting a 7mm mauser is becoming a task to try and find brass.

UPDATE
I completed the remainder of the 100 brass cases by, resizing, reaming the flash-holes, deburring and chamfering the case mouths. After that was complete, I placed them in the RCBS Vibratory cleaner for 2 hours. Purpose for cleaning is that, I lube the inside of the neck when resizing, media cleans all the case lube.

I then measured 25 cases and all were within .001" of length. I weighed 25 cases, all were within 1.5 grains. Well, I have no complaints, I'm most pleased with the outcome!

Once my build is complete, the anticipation will be like a child waiting for Christmas morning.
