Starling Killer

I LOVE shooting starlings. Every spring I get my Anschutz zeroed with Yellow Jackets and shoot till the leaves on the maples get too big to see the birds. Some years the damn things get so well trained that if I walk out of the house with anything that even resembles a gun any bird that sees me takes off. It can get really frustrating but its totally worth it.

I love shooting starlings all season especially before GOS hunting season in September. I use my Pro Elite Air Arm 22.cal a lot to shoot them in free standing position, sitting, leaning beside buildings. Shooting range vary from 20-90yards. This practice shooting gave me lots of confidence in my shooting ability at Big Games at reasonable angle, range etc.:sniper:

Out duck hunting last year. Clouds of starlings were darkening the sky. As a cloud flew over I blasted a charge of ~4's into them. Picked up 28 of them when I went to retrieve the decoys at the end of the day. I'm sure I lost about a dozen in the weeds too.

Nice!! I have yet to get more than one at a time.

i use a shotgun as they fly overhead. makes it easyer to kill more than 1. or wait till they are sitting in a tree near a bird feeder and blast them that way.

the ones near my parents place have gotton wise. they know when im aiming a .22 or my pellet rifle. so they wait 2 seconds then fly away. takes less time than that with a shotgun :)

really! where? I'll buy 20 boxes for that price..

Was just in walmart the other day and they are up to 26.89 for the 100 box

Im pretty sure the canadian tire in hamilton still has them around $20, its been about 6 months since i bought them (i usually take em all when i go), so im not sure if the price went up. I thinks its the same though, unfortunately they dont put the prices of ammo on the net.

I just picked up 300 rounds here in Charlottetown, $25/100.
