Start planning this years hunting trip yet?

I'm takeing my son to Australia in August for some culling, and maybe (probably) buffalo or cull buffalo. That one's solidly booked and was planned a year out. I'm 90 % committed on a Mozambique swampland buffalo, croc and hippo hunt for Oct, just in the process of seeing if airlines/work/booking dates can be made to mesh. That's the down-fall doing last minute "run and gun" hunts where you fill open slots, the upside is little waiting and often attractive prices. Relatively speaking that is.

Do you record your hunts? I know u hunt abroad ect enough where you could pretty much make a show.

I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of nowhere SE Alberta with trophy mulies in my front yard. If I can draw a tag this year I think I might do something I have not done in 15 years take out the bow.

For rifle, if I can make it up for some scouting in aug ill take the winchester 94 up in the Rockies for an elk.

South Africa in May, BC for mountain goat in August and Azerbaijan in September for tur booked so far. With any luck maybe a mule deer and antelope in Alberta for Vanessa and I might pull a moose tag. Never know what a person might draw south of the border......I love the anticipation. Murdered a bunch of gophers with the 375 today.....countdown to South Africa begins!

SA in May, Cambridge Bay in August. Namibia May next year and back to SA right after. Namibia in May of 2015 for leopard, so far. Maybe a Gator or Pronghorn thrown in.

Our gophers are under 6 feet of snow.

Ours are running around in the short grass....:) One of the best gopher shoots I've ever had today. Shooting them off sticks at 100 yards is just the practice the doctor ordered!

Much time spent on the phone in the last two weeks with my father- do we go elk or goat hunting this fall????
Also starting to think about red deer in Norway or Denmark this spring, which is much closer in time but only me so I grab a gun and go.

I should get drawn for trophy mule deer with my priority 8, and then it's the annual whitetail hunts in northern Alberta and Saskatchewan.............dats it dats all!

My son and I will be going to Maine for turkeys in May. Due to our foolish provincial laws that don't allow kids under 12 to hunt, this will be his first hunt. Needless to say, we are both pretty excited!

Wish you a couple of big Eastern... JP.

My plans are up in the air right now. Three couples usually go to Manitoba and waterfowl hunt on buddies grandfathers farm. Well we are having a boy in July. Buddy and his wife are having a boy in early August. So can you imagine 6 adults, two 2month old babies and a hunting dog staying in 2 bedroom house? Take into consideration there is 6 beds. My wife and I are all for it pending our boy's health. But add in the variable buddy is inviting 2 other couples. hard tell him not to when its his grandfathers land. One of them has said they are going. but the same couple bailed last year. Sounds like a complete $h!t show.

IMHO too many people in one house. There's no camp "leader" it is a democracy Usually ends up with sombody not happy. Also a lot of unfamiliar guns in the field. I'm not too comfortable on that considering its my little river dog that makes the retrieves.

So I have no idea what I'm doing this year.

Whitetail deer hunting in Saskatchewan, this will be my 4th year in a row and the 2013 trip plans began on the first day of the 2012 trip!! really looking forward to it again!

Hopefully I'll draw a mule deer tag this year and if I do that will be my focus. Other then that whitetail and hopefully a meat Elk. Just returned from South Africa so the visa bill means I'll be staying close to home this year. Depending on how this Sask winter plays out I'm hopefull for a good year. I may even focus more on the bow this fall, always a good time with bow in hand.
