Backstory.

In fall of 2015 I had a massive seizure that started my journey with brain cancer ,surgery learning to walk again and 36 weeks of chemo. It was glioblastoma and I was given two years. Well I am still here and I love life more then ever.

And now. My wife and I have had a hard time with medical costs but with help from friends family and a go undme we are getting debt stable. I have sold off most of my guns. I have been blessed to have sponsors over the years for shooting sports.they alone kept me shooting.

So to this day my foot still does not work properly as the location of the tumor damaged the control center of my lower right side and I can not feel it much. This makes 3gun and Ipsc harder to do when movement is such a huge part of the “game” so for 2019 I am stepping back from those sports and I am focusing on starting a youth markmenship group at my local club. And I plan on competing in the Petawawa PRS matches and rimfire prs matches. Health permitting. This is a reason I have not been as active as I should be on this great site.

Pet has caliber restrictions and my current PR rifle is not allowed. But since the max range of this series will be 630meters I have started tearing threw my parts bins and found everything but a gas block and Barrel. I have started selling off all not needed stuff. Motocross wakeboard stuff and camping gear I don’t need. My wife allowed my a very fine budget of sell off to supply needed gear.

So in the past week I sold off enough stuff to buy a IBI 19” barrel and I found a gas block to fit. So hopefully next week the upper will start. Milspec bolt and carrier group. Kac URX II IBI barrel and a JM brake.
I will pull the glass off my 260 and will likely run a MDT carbine stock on my KAC lower I will be using JSA bags as well. . I plan to run 73gr bergers or 77 gr SMK over some 8028 near mk262 speeds ( or best grouping speed)I have a good supply of them.

Pics to follow.

Barrel showed up today! 19” IBI looks amazing! Finish and bore top shelf!

Tomorrow I mount up a rail. I have a KAC urx but it’s a 10.75” so I will have about 1.75 to 2 “ of gas tube showing. I have a bud with a PRI MK12 sitting in his parts bin maybe I can borrow it lol

Keep fighting Jamie. Enjoy every moment with family & friends.

Awesome to see the gun culture keeping you strong and providing you enjoyment through this tough challenge.

I plan on attending a few of the Pet matches as well. Hope to see you there!

You know if your brass says 308 who's to know...not that I'm suggesting you do anything like that.

I think with 630 meters being max a 223/556 should do ok.
I will be going to a rimfire match or two as well. Will look forward to meeting you

Well build is complete. Reaper lent me his PRI rail
Bushnell ENGAGE 3/12 is a temporary deal it’s for my 22 trainer. I will borrow the glass off my PRS rig before the match.

So here it is
“ HalfKAC MOCK12 MOD 0” specs SR15 lower with All KAC parts two stage match trigger
IBI 19” 1/8 rifle length gas barrel
Ergo gasblock
JM style comp( I need a ops inc or surefire)
PRI MOD 0 rail
DD Harris mount
Harris 6/9” ( going on it’s 24th year of abuse)

Going to test with some 75gr Hornady match Federal 73 Berger match. I have some IVI and a miss mash of ammo on hand to try
I do have a 262 load that I need to work up in this barrel too. A2682888-AC32-4687-BF04-B0A5F92BEB27.jpg

I will be curious of your results.
Myself also got the IBI 19'' for my AR, and as prescribed purchased some 77 TMKs and 8208xbr to go along with it.
We may run into each other at Petawawa this summer!

First 35 rounds down the IBI pipe. Each group got better. But I pulled a dumbass and left the gold medal match at home.

I zeroed with some 62gr ivi and it was not great. I think it’s a bad lot because none of my rifles will shoot better the 3moa with it.

I then shot some Hornady steel match 75 grain it was in the 1.5” groupings. Then I tried Hornady TAP 75 ( same specs as the steel match but different case) it was better.
Then I shot two groups of my 77gr mk262 clone loads. Loaded to max usgi mag length. These look promising. Very promising !

Issues. With the barrel and rifle? None ran awesome and super smooth all brass landed in a nice little pile about 6’ to my right.

Now know issues.
1 the scope. I found the eye box a little touchy on the Bushnell ENGAGE. Glass is very good for a $300 scope it will be moving the my rimfire prs rifle.
2 the trigger. While I love the KAC two stage it’s been awhile since I pulled 4.5lbs.
3 temp was -9 and no gloves. I guess that’s me being a sissy lol

Now for some pics of the best groups of the day and also the last 3 groups of the day. I had one called shot I know I pulled. But a group is what it is.

I shot off JSA’s large front and mid rear from the bench.

If we don’t get hit tomorrow I am going to try to get back up and try a few more of my 262 loads and the GMM 73gr Berger match.

You may want to try this test again at +10 Celsius, just saying. See you in Petawawa this spring.

Agreed. Good start for factory ammo. And 65 rounds down the pipe.
I look forward to the PET matches. I hope I get out there at least once before the match to get a base line chart.

Got out to 600 meters yesterday. Did a sub 5” group on ol Herman’s head box! My 262 clones loads where 2680fps.
