Whenever I swap or stop using any of my barrels/liners I always clean them thoroughly first before storing.
I have this my - twist rates - selection collected over several years, each barrel and liner has its own function depend what game I wanna play next.
Today was one of those grey days, what else to do...let me do a quick maintenance on my inventory.
Cleaned the bore with Ballistol (in the garage of course), dry them with couple of clean patches, and re-lubed with soaked PTFE oil.
But I noticed for first time something new to me, a light surface rust even if the material is Stainless. No problem, a light touch with steel wool did the magic, but I would like to put some coating now.
What you friends use? that is indoors odourless friendly ;)

Pff I use Ballistol in the basement. Between the cat litter boxes, the wife soap fragrances supplies, a 14ft well, a little Ballistol won't hurt.

Fluid film is what I use for long term.

I was running the PCP compressor (YongHeng) for years in the basement but when I diy finished the rooms the burning oil smell got relocated to my garage. Still have a 3d resin printer, but I put it in a tent enclosure with two 4" carbon drum filters, and Yes, the cat food and wife's washing machine supply smell is still present at my mans cave as well. Over winter I would also use the Ballistol downstairs but for now not too cold and that "hindu soaked gym socks" odour can go to the garage.

I used some FluidFilm on my lawnmower yesterday and it stinks bad. My shed still smells bad today. Try some Krown Rust Protection from your local Krown dealer or some Rust Check Coat & Protect from CanTire. The Rust Check stuff comes in the green spray can and it's very thick. I've used it under my vehicle and it stays on all winter. The Krown is good too but more of an oil consistency. It migrates to all crevices. Neither seems to stink any worse than motor oil.

Spray a little shot on the rag. Your not spraying it like the father on Friday, trying to mask the smell from him using the bathroom.

Yah, I coat the entire bottom of my lawnmower deck, the blade, wheel adjustment parts, and any spots on top of the deck that has paint missing. My last lawnmower lasted over 20 years with no rust. I guess for a gun barrel only a wipe with a rag is needed.

I got a recommendation from my US friend @ AGN to try Eezox, or better Boeshield maybe? Shopping now on amazon...

I have Eezox and it's great at protecting metal, but it's one nemesis is the oil on your hands.

Cleaned and oiled up a firearm and put it away, had a fingerprint rust stain on the bolt when I took it back out a week later, Hornady One Shot is my goto from now on.

Great input guys. For now I just lubed quickly the outside with Ballistol and put the barrels aside, will revisit again for inspection before the snow hits, if I can remember :)
But the winter will be long and ugly as the meteorologists predicts, so plenty of time to next shooting season.
