I bought my first handguns this week : a cz in 9mm, a ruger MK 3 in 22 and a tokarev 33 7.62 x 25.
I want a 40 a 45 a 10 mm a 357 a 44 a 380 and something ridiculous a 500 smith 50 ae 45 70 etc
The only catch is i dont want to repeat manufactures ie two colts two rugers etc, i want them all different ,
So how would you complete this collection?
Personally , I'd shoot my .22 and CZ 9mm a lot before I went out and bought a whole bunch of new guns...but maybe that's just me...
For a .45, you almost certainly want a 1911A1...figure out the features you want and your budget and then look at your options. The Smith&Wesson M&P45 is one of my favorite guns.
There are lots of .40s in the world...the one I'm looking at right now is a Browning Hi-Power....but I wouldn't be without my Smith M&P in .40.
The Glock 10mm is probably the easiest to find, and I suppose no collection of pistols is really complete without a Glock.
For a .357 I'd personally look at S&W or Ruger. Lots of used revolvers are available if you're on a budget. 44 Magnum...again, Smith or Ruger. I like my Redhawk a lot, but the N-frame Smiths are great guns, esp. if you get an older one in good shape. Lots of people buy these guns, but many don't shoot them much, so used can be an excellent deal.
I don't know much about .380s...many of them have prohib length barrels, so you may have trouble finding one.
Hand cannons...again, I'm not an enthusiast, either of artillery or single-actions. I believe the 454 Casull can also shoot .45Colt ammo...I'd go for that in a single action. There are threads on here about the .460 S&W, but if you don't want more than one S&W, that's a problem. The Desert Eagle .50 looks pretty awesome, but I believe [again, only an impression] many people find them unreliable.
So there are my thoughts. Bottom line...Lots of neat guns are out there. I once wanted one of everything, but nowadays I prefer to shoot a few guns in a few calibers.
