Manual. Blue Dot. Plated 180 or 155. Think someone said that.... I prefer 155.
Is there a Hodgson substitute for blue dot? What makes it so popular? Will it be good for medium power loads? Thanks
Longshot is a fine flake powder, kind of looks like HP-38/W231. Meters very well and provides better velocity with a lower charge than Blue Dot. It's my new favourite for 180grn bullets. Sooner or later I'm gonna work out some loads with 200grn bullets. It's erratic when loaded light, medium velocity loads seem fine.
Do you think Longshot will be fine for 155gr bullets as well? Thanks!
Power Pistol meters much better than a flake powder like Blue Dot. it makes good medium and up loads.
All my 10mm loads so far have been with 800x, 155gr and 180gr pills are all I've loaded so far and I like making strong 10mm loads so they have all been pretty spicey, if I'm going to shoot weak loads I'll just shoot the 45acp or 9mm, my 10mm and 44mag are for when I want a bigger smile from shooting not just plinking. The worst thing about shooting 10mm is losing brass which is why mine doesn't get used a lot.
Yep, losing specialized brass is a PITA so I won't be shooting 10mm in my semi-autos that often. Picked up this baby a little while ago so I can shoot 40S&W and 10mm and no chasing brass![]()

If you don't mind hand weighing charges I haven't found a powder that gives higher velocities than 800-X. It's usually a lot cheaper than other powders too.
