I'm here in Lake Placid NY, and I gotta tell you guys...things are pretty bleak in the firearms world here. I was able to stop at a couple of shops that were on route, and had a talk with both shop owners and customers.....22LR is all but gone and is fetching unreal prices to those who are willing to pay upwards of $100 for a 525 Federal bulk pack. Even 9mm and .40 are super inflated at the retail level....we're talking $45 for a 50 count box of Remington .40 ball ammo if you can find it. The magazine situation is worse...not a standard ten round 10/22 mag in the State of NY, but one retailer did happen to have about 3 or 4 Ruger 5 round mags....that's all he's allowed to carry. I didn't see any semi auto's anywhere...just some bolt action. I really feel for these guys here in Upstate NY.....for once I think Canada is ahead on their regulations. A real eye opener for me.
