On Rimfire EE there is a Squires Bingham 16R that the owner claims was once restricted but has been changed to non-restricted. I am not doubting this, only wondering how a firearm can go fron rest to non-rest. I can see it going the other way, to a tougher class, at the R.C.M.P.'s discretion. Would be nice to see other restricted rimfires(because of looks, variants) reclasified as non-rest.

Actually...kernel of truth.

My local smith was sure they were too...A long time ago it was "destined" for the prohib list. The very same rifle, dressed like an AK-47 is a prohib.

It's my understanding (there's bold statement...) at one point a "circular" was distributed about m-16 knock offs...now, it's not on the list. So, although it n'er made it to a list, there was more than just speculation it was destined for it...

My smith (fantastic Guy) and, i went over the "law" and, could only find Mitchell there now (also an armi jaeger ??spelling??) but, couldn't Find "Squires Bingham/Armscor"...
