Steel Blasting media for shotgun loads.

I found a person this stuff locally as sandblasting material. Steel shot and looks like the S-330 code makes it out to be #4 birdshot size.

Any reason why this wouldn't be good to reload with? Seems feasible to me to reload with!

Blasting media is a lot harder than steel shotgun pellets. Won’t be good on your barrel.

One uses a shot cup, doesn't one? Do any pellets contact your barrel?

Experiments have been done with blasting shot. Not good. Extra hardness makes a big difference. Shot cup doesn’t protect the barrel enough.

I know a guy who planned to do this, he said that "steel was steel", I do not think he took metallurgy in school. I tried to explain that there are lots of different steels and they are of different hardness, he laughed at me.

No I do not use his reloads.

The hardness would be a factor with regards to compression as well.
Probably harmful on even "safe for steel" chokes
