Hi Gerard. in my 50 years of collecting I have never seen a steel disc stamped NFLD. Or any other Canadian marking either. The
steel disc is for Drill Purpose arms. Broad arrow stamped on the back of yours. With the SMLE parts shortages after WW1 Canadian
depots would have used whatever they could get in pre-WW2 refurbishment program. I have seen at least one serviceable Canadian marked SMLE with the steel disc and often rifles are found with the later Pattern B woodwork. JOHN
