Steel case 9mm (Tul Ammo) GOOD or NOT ?

There was another thread about this....even a link to a very thorough study on the topic.

Long story short - the bi-metal (steel) jackets, not the casings, it will wear out your barrel quicker. So factor replacement barrels into the cost of shooting. I think the study concluded that it was still cheaper to replace barrels than to shoot more expensive softer-jacketed ammo.

unless all you do is run tula, i wouldn't worry about the wear in pistol cal's.

That torture test was just that, shooting full capacity mags non stop and not letting the barrel cool down and no cleaning. If thats the way you shoot then the test will be meaningful for you. Otherwise if you do casual shooting with proper maintenance you would have a very hard time destroying a barrel with bimetallic bullets.

One other thing to consider - if you shoot at an indoor range, make sure they will allow these. Mine won't. Many indoor ranges have a rule that if a magnet sticks to the projectile, then it is banned. Reason being that even a partially steel jacket or steel core projectiles are too hard on most pistol calibre backstops.
