Steel Challenge Ammo

Have my 10/22 setup with a red dot for steel challenge.

Now i normally try to get ammo that groups the best at 50 and 100 , now with steel challenge being about speed with generous target what do you all look for.

I’m leaning towards reliability in feeding/firing vice accuracy.

Reliability is everything. You can afford one misfeed/misfire per string but if you’re having multiple FTF’s then it’s going to cost you a lot of time in the end.

Problems may not show up until you’ve shot 200 rounds either. I discovered recently that my 10/22 will need a chamber clean after a couple of hundred rounds when using wax coated bullets or else I get misfires. Our practice sessions didn’t expose that bit of info and I learned it during a match
