Hello, just wondering if I reload steel core bullets in my Enfield if it will wear out the barrel faster? Using a 7.62x39 steel core instead of the lead core. I think it should be fine.

Thanks

The core is not going to affect much. The steel jackets found on x39 ammo is just mild steel usually flash coated with copper. It's much, much softer than your barrel.

Barrel wear from bullets is a very minor factor, overall. Norma of Sweden made hunting
bullets with mild steel jackets for years without any barrel wear issues.
Generally speaking, the throat of a barrel will be shot out long before bore wear is of
any consequence. This erosion is from hot gases, not from bullet materials. Dave.
