Took off to the mountains this weekend to do some practice with the with my rifle to hopefully knock out some of the cob webs and test some chassis modifications I made late in the fall. Also took a buddy who was interested into getting into the PRS game but didn't know where to start. So we got his Remington 700 setup and started him shooting. Pretty sure a cadex chassis is now in the works as the PRS bug has bitten him good!

I grabbed an assortment of steel I picked up from a local CGN sponsor RangeRabbit. The owner, Glenn dropped my order off at my house within hours of purchase on the website. Pretty awesome service and a nice guy. Had some 6 and 8" gongs, a couple of his stands and his new "heartshot" targets to test out. The new heart shot target with the base stand is great. When I get to my shooting spot, I do not want to mess around hanging, fixing bolts etc.
I also had an assortment of water jet, laser and plasma cut plates I wanted to do some edge testing on. The conclusion to that testing for me showed, it doesn't really matter, they all chip when you try and pick out the edges, but who does that!? Painting targets white added another fun element of target acquisition and memory.

So since Rangerabbit is open to doing custom fab work, I was trying to rack my brain for some neat targets that would be of particular use to PRS and field shooters, anyone got some ideas?

Either way, was a nice day to get out, do some positional type field shooting off some logs, boulders and stumps, all while losing the feeling in my fingers.

Barrel is now all shot out, and will be going into the gunsmith for a complete overhaul for the 2017 PRS season this coming week. Good things to come!
