Has anyone used steel shot media for cleaning brass? will it harm it? my wife is a jeweler and has a vibratory tumbler polisher for silver and other metals, and I figured hey! why couldn't I use it for brass?
any Ideas or has anybody hear of steel shot being used before?

Ask your wife about pin media. Pin media is small steel pins, pointed on both ends, about 5/32" long. The Sinclair manual recommends adding it to regular media for better cleaning inside the cases and for cleaning primer pockets, and that it can be acquired from jewellery store suppliers. If you can find some pass it along - I would like to try it as well.

I threw a bunch of old primers into my media. Seems to work fine, but keep in mind that if you put large dia. primers in the mix, then clean brass with a small neck (.223, etc.) they will get jammed in permanently. Use only small dia. primers.
