Not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 man limit of ducks and geese, its funny the pellets seemed to go right through the birds instead of the pellets bouncing off them.

Get em close and you'll have no problems with steel at all.

4 very happy hunters.

Congrats, nice pic.
Thats the problem w/ steel you don't have the benefits of lead ex. longer range and stopping power. Steel will obviously kill birds, no question......but it does suck compared to lead shot. If you never hunted waterfowl w/lead before it was illegal, then you wouldn't know any different. For those of us that did.......we know what were missing. :)

Never shot lead at any migartory bird but I've always heard how great it was back in the day from everyone older. My brother shoots hevi-shot at geese and you definitely see a difference on longer range shoots. Its even more dense then lead so in some ways its better then the old days of lead but its alot harder not as nearly soft as lead is but darn expensive most of the time.

Good job on the birds... but steel sucks, I would still rather use lead or tungsten if it was not so dam expensive.

I guess steel shot DOES suck if you're a goose, or duck.

:)

It's almost unbelievable how many drop dead out of the sky around here when shot with sucky, useless, goddamn steel shot...

I started this season shooting geese with a 12 ga. 3" loads of steel BB's, switched to tungsten Matrix 3's and 1's for a couple of shoots, went back to my old standard 1-1/16 oz 2-3/4" Faststeel 1's, and finished the season with a 16 ga. and Remington 1300fps loads, 15/16 oz steel loads of 2's. Each works within its own limitations, but the main limit is the skill of the hunter. Scout properly, set your decoys well, call effectively, and shoot straight. They all work.
