I was bored of shooting paper so I bought Caldwell Resetting Target System 22. It is on sale at Midway USA for $16.99 usd. Anyone use these or something similar? Some people said it is alright with .17hmr but others say no.

Ok how did you get that from Midway they don't sell or ship to Canada. I tried a month ago & they won't take my CC.

Same way I bought my 50" panasonic plasma tv for half price from the states hehe. There are retail locations right across the border that you ship items to and they charge a nominal fee. For instance I use http://tsbshipping.com/. I register online with them and use their address but my name.

The trick is to then call your credit card company and set the postal retailer's address as an alternate shipping address on your account. I have like 3 alternate addresses to my account so you can have more than one (at least with RBC).

You are right though, they won't ship to Canada, but if you are close to the border it is a great way to take advantage of the much lower US prices. Supporting the local economy is fine, but I refuse to pay 30-40% more... If it is reasonable I'll buy local.

If you are going to order and it is over $50 USD use the promo code 501292 for an extra $10 off.

ok I understand and yes I use a few parcel services for ebay just didn't know about the CC part. I wanted to buy some blue plastic storage boxes for ammo storage and they wouldn't ship it. there better then the mtm boxes we carry in the store.

Back to the original posters question, I have 2 of those that I paid twice as much for and don't like them very much. I think for me when they are set they are to close to the ground ( especially at my range where the ground is uneven and grassy ). I found them difficult to set up in harder ground as well. I am looking to modify mine to sit up a little higher and make it so it is able to be fixed to a peice of plywood. When set up in the right spot after all the messing around they did function properly. Let us know what you think of them.

I bought this Champion Auto-Reset and have enjoyed it tremendously... It's nice and high off the ground, so uneven or grassy situations aren't a problem and it's so satisfying to hear that "TING."

Works great, even with sub-sonic loads like CB's... which is nice, I've seen some that won't complete the rotation with the lower powered rounds.

Would recommend them to anyone.

I have the same setup. It works great.:)

my buddy bought one but then got bored of the 22 and hit it with a .50, now it doesnt work very well anymore and only has 3 targets.

So I took it out to the range and it sorta works. It needs some tinkering because when i shoot the outside ones the other outside target flies down. I'll have to shoot with it some more, but it is definetly more fun than shooting paper.

I have 2 sets like the original poster. they work well and when bent by many .22 shots, you can turn them around and shoot til they are straight again. the .17 cal will pierce the steel as they are much faster than the .22. I have used my set up for 4 years and no real damage to it yet. thousand of hits and still going. Great practice for gopher hunting when set up at 75-100 yards.

I have the champion target tree like this:

It works great and is lots of fun especially if there are a couple of shooters. Each person can take a side and try keep all the targets on the other person's side.

Mine has seen a lot of use and is still going strong. I had to repaint the targets with some florescent orange because they were getting a little hard to see with open sights.

I have one like the first poster. Lots of fun. Saves walking to check targets. I agree they should have been made taller, as any grass or change in elevation can make the targets obscured, especially if you try shooting prone. They shift around a bit too, eventually not working right until you walk back up and slide the legs back up to the top. All in all, a great reactive target for 22's.
