Anyone else experienced brightness issues with the Steiner MPS?

I just shot with one today on a nice bright sunny day and the brightness was too low for daylight shooting. I am fairly certain it was on max brightness.

Very pathetic for the cost and totally disappointed. I don’t know if there is a warranty or anything.

I did read someone on a US forum who bought about a dozen of these for LE department use with the same issues.

I had a Vortex Defender CCW out as well and it was brighter than the sun.

Well, after reading the manual I figured it out. Some bizarre settings on this thing. If the 13 hr auto off setting is enabled (it was), the brightness setting can never hit max.

You can disable the auto off setting by holding both +/- down for 10 seconds and the dot should flash repeatedly for about 5 secs after. Then you should have full range of brightness settings.

In what world should pushing the plus button repeatedly, with the controls not locked, not achieve max brightness. Not great UI.
