Yes and no.. Need new rear style mag block. But the design can be made by you.

Or do more work. But it is more expensive.

Well I figure I'll be saving myself money, and get more for my money.

IE.
Uzi Mag are ~50.00.
Colt Mag are ~100-200.00.
Sten Mag 30.00.

Figure there are a Sh*t load of Sten mags in Canada.

I have the ASA 9mm conversion, which I understand is very close to the colt system, except with the single piece mag block. It uses the Uzi mags. Does anyone know if theres a commercial mag block yet that I can purchase to go to sten mags? I figure I can sell of my half dozen UZI mags, buy the converted mag block, and still have some change left over.
Sten mags are not a problem to find in this neck of the woods.
I don't want to start to butcher my ASA mag block, and at the same time, I would prefer not having to install the 2 part mag blocks, as I use my AR lower for several different calibers. I'm not so sure there is enough meat on the sides of an ASA mag block to allow a sten mag through.

Ardent and Badboybeeson had a 9mm Mag block FS 1 of them used Sten mags.

The block system that works with Sten mags is different than the one for Uzi mags. They are NOT interchangable.

The Uzi mag system utilizes the normal mag release button. Some are one piece systems, and some are two piece, such as the factory Colt systems that were first introduced in the initial Colt 9mm guns.

The Sten mag system uses a lever type release under the mag block, and if you use the normal mag release button with the Sten set up, you may release the whole block and magazine (at least in the old ones).

The biggest user of the Sten system was Olymplic Arms/SGW.

With the Uzi system, only the factory Colt mags have the bolt hold open piece on the follower. The normal Uzi mags don't have it and therefore the bolt doesn't hold open on last round. But then it is the hold open piece that makes the factory Colt 9mm mags a beach to load.

My preference is for the system that uses the Uzi mags with the mag block that RobertMc has pictured. Very good:D My opinion, worth spending the extra money..

Will the single feed position Sten mags work in the double feed position Colt pattern uppers?

I was under the impression only the Olympic style uppers would work with the Sten mags.

Actually, SNS industries does make a Colt style magblock that uses Sten mags, and get this, will work in either a Colt or Olympic setup. All that is required for the Colt setup is to add a Colt ejector. I tried to google for their website but I came up empty. I have the contact info at work but I won't be back there 'till after the holidays. The other nice thing about this block is that it is the cheapest that I've ever seen at $65 in the white w/ ejector slot cutout.
