Does anyone know the whereabouts of a Sten Mk. I - in a museum, private collection, etc?

Unlikely to be one in Canada. I saw one at the Pattern Room in the UK but it ain't easy to get in there.

I can't remember for sure but the CFB Borden museum had a couple Sten as well as Stirling etc.

The Royal Armouries in Leeds has one.

Yeah, a long walk but one hell of a collection. The full size dioramas are awesome....I try to visit every time I'm in England.

There was one sent to the Army Technical Design Board in 1941. It should have ended up in the CAL reference collection which was transfered to Diamaco....
