Sterling and Enfield mags

Yeah I'm finding difficulty to acquire some in this country...they work well in the DCRA converted No4's?

That's an Enfield 7.62 mag Guys! Lucky to find one a remanufactured for $200.00. The Sterling mag is a different configuration and does not have the ejector tab built in.

Actually the one in the picture above is more commonly known as the L42 type mag..I just put it there so maybe someone would recognize one from grand dad & woul let it go...The most common one in Canada I believe is the Sterling mag.

I did find one for the Ishapore .308 conversion for about $50 but I'm hesitant on that one, even with mods..

They're few and far between here. Always have been. Gunparts lists 'em(original, used) at $49.60US each. A new one(blued, replacement) lists at $40.40US. Listed under SMLE, NO. 2A MKIII Ishapore.

I have one. For an obcene offer it couldmbe pried out of my hands. I bought it at Fultons in Bisley. Was not cheap. Nothing there is.

I just bought a Sterling marked mag a few weeks ago from Ellwood Epps. It was listed on their website. I paid $125, which I think was an allright price considering their scarcity. I am overseas for another month, but the parcel is sitting at home waiting for me.

I believe those are Indian manufactured mags, so I've heard. Not original Enfield or Sterling. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It says 7.62mm No4 LE mag so it is likely a Sterling etc..It would suck big time if you'd spend $200 on a Ishapore .308 mag

The Ishy mags have sharp edges and corners unlike the one you have on that No. 4. Are No. 1 and No. 4 mags interchangeable?

It's not Ishapore. It's like a relica of the Enfield mag...made by who knows? Just ask Collectors Source?
I could be wrong but that's what I've heard.

Collector Source are selling the Enfield style mag....the body was stamped in India. follower is correct. It's the closest thing to the real deal. Caution....the ejector tab is pourly welded to the body and frequently breakoffs and need to be repaired. I believe the Sterlings are reproduction as well. Occassionally see the "real deal" at GunShows.

Your going to need a 308 extractor on the bolt too. I got the mag from Collectors source and it still did not eject properly until I got the extractor. (Ebay of all places)

Works fine now.

I saw that Collectorsource sells the extractor as well for $25
