Hi all,

Function testing a brand new R18. I pull the trigger, drop the hammer. Keeping finger on the trigger and pulling the changing handle the trigger doesn’t reset. If I let go of the trigger, charging will reset the hammer.

The trigger is a Geissele G2S. I don’t have the factory trigger anymore.

Anyone have any ideas I should try? I took everything apart and reassembled but no luck.

Update. It seems to be the shape of the Geissele hammer that was causing the issue. I installed an ALG with the more traditional shaped hammer and everything functions as it should.

Ran into the same issue with my G2S, tried a Rock River National Match and same thing. Phoned TSE and they suggested that I didn't install the trigger correctly or that it may be out of adjustment. They asked me if the stock trigger works, yep, so nothing they'll do on their end.

I suspect that triggers that don't sit as proud as a factory AR15 hammer will not work in these guns because the bolt carrier doesn't push the hammer down far enough for the disconnect to grab/reset. I suppose you could try an ALG trigger - definitely won't be on par with the Geissele but it could be an improvement. That said, not sure I'd want to spend the money on trigger units to find something that works. Perhaps TSE or Sterling could comment.

Knowing about these compatibility issues beforehand probably would have changed my decision to buy.

I’m happy with the ALG I put in. Very big improvement over the one it came with.

I’m a Geissele fanboy, nothing better than the G2S or SSA, imo. But the ALG Advance is perfect for my intended use of this rifle, which would be a fun little bush gun that folds up.

Some folks seem to be pretty picky with this rifle, I set my expectations to meh before buying it. Having received it, I get the impression that a lot of thought went into the rifle. Im pleased with it and I hope more people get one.
