ok so i have a stevens 820b and was shooting some clay pidgions today when all of a sudden it stoped fireing. the trigger still works i hear mechanical noise when i pull the trigger yet the shells dont fire and there is no mark from the fireing pin on the primer cap. we fired close to a hundred shells before this happened. any help is appretiated

First thing I would check is the firing pin, I've heard reports of the 820 being a pin eater. However, I recently picked up an 820 from a guy who said it has always worked great. I cleaned it up and checked everything I could think of and it's a no-fire too. Puts a slight indentation into the primer but not enough to fire yet all parts seem functional and assembled properly......

If you PM me your email addy, I'll send you an exploded schematic diagram but I have not yet been able to find a proper dissasembly ouline for the Stevens 820. I've heard there isn't one. I'm not sure if this is the "proper" dissambly procedure but is what I figured out by trial and error. I'm not likely using the correct parts description but what do you want for free?
- Remove stock butt plate or pad (2 screws)
- Remove butt stock with LARGE flat head screwdriver (butt stock screws into trigger assembly through large hole down middle of stock)
- Remove trigger assembly screw (back/side of action)
- Take a punch and punch out trigger assembly pin (middle /side of action)
- Pull down and out trigger assembly
- On inside of action (from the back) wedge a skinny flat head screwdriver between the rod (long rod from front stock that runs into the action) and the inside of the action housing and push up a bit so that the rod clears the bolt carrier (take a close look with a flashlight and you'll see what I mean) and just pull the bolt and carrier out the back. The other screw (middle of action) holds the ejector pin in and is not required to remove to take out bolt. You'll be able to figure out disassembly of fore-end stock (pump) on you own, it's simple (start with unscrewing the screw at the end of the fore-end stock). Hope this helps
