Finally I found a store that sold them at $319 so I picked up a .223.
What are you guys getting for accuracy out of these little gems :) Does bedding and a trigger jog do anything or should a guy just leave them be??
Post some targets if you can :D

Cheers!!

Haven't bedded mine, but there is some wear showing that the receiver is shifting on one of the pillars, so I will at some point. I put in a rifle basix trigger in mine. I also cleaned up some of the rough mold marks on the stock and removed a little material that was interfering with the "free-floating" barrel.

Other than that I haven't modded it. It shoots almost anything MOA, and many loads group noticably below that. That's with factory loads, just started playing with reloads which can only improve things.

It will treat you well. :)

Bought my son one for Xmas,it will shot Winchester white box into 1/2 "Just adjust the trigger and shoot it,you most likely won't have to do anything else to it.

Who's got 'em in .223 for $319?

Me wants!

I got ahold of SIR today and they said they have lots in stock but they sell within weeks. Not sure if this was a sales tactic or what but at $319 for a "toss in the back of the truck" coyote gun, you can't go wrong.

If you're shooting factory ammo, I found the Honady 40gr Vmax loads to be silly-accurate in the Stevens .223. Capable of 1/4" 5 shot groups, and ALWAYS less than 1/2".

Funny the previous poster says his shot whitebox good, because out of my .223 it was pretty shoddy accuracy wise. For budget ammo the UMC/Remington stuff was pretty good.

Win white box shoots half-inch groups fireforming in my Stevens 223 Ackley!

Just amazing accuracy for a $300 rifle. Got mine last fall when SIR had them on for $299. Got a 300 for the same price and it shoots right at an inch.

$319 is still a steal. Beat it up on a skidoo or in a truck and not fret about it for a minute.

Better still, treat it right, take care of it and give it to your grandkids in a few years. It will be shooting even better after a few thousand rounds down the tube. :D

I plan on getting one of these one pf these days. I think that re-enforcing the stock with some carbonm arrow shafts and epoxy and making sure the barrel channel is clear will be all I do to mine. Super rifle for the money!

Mine likes the same two loads. :)
