Well, I finally got to the range Today,

Lets say I was Impressed at my new stevens performance...

Took 3 shots to sight it in at 25 yards.

First group was at 100 and is exactly 3/4 of and inch. I was using federal premium with 85gr sierra BT. I got the trigger down to about 3.5-4 pounds. Just put some weaver base and an old baush and lomb 3x9 I had laying around with torx screw low rings which I got for 16$...
Here it is:

Then I went to 200, just to have an idea...
1 1/4 with the same ammo, the picture is upside down..

Oh yeah, and I also tried some crappy tire winchester 100 grainers and I got 1'' at 100...

This gun will stay in my safe for a long time.

Best 319$ spent on a rifle ever.

Now l need to paint the sock and scope so its a little cooler.

Olive green will be my choice.

I've got a new favorite gun :)

Looks like you got yourself a fun gun.:D

I was considering one for my beater "predator walk around" rifle. Something I can paint and not worry about losing value on. I came pretty close to ordering it and in 243 too. In the end I spent more only because my father was feeling pretty generous this year with my Birthday/X-Mas gift.

I have a savage 10 Sierra SA on the way in 243 with Accutrigger. I'm still going to ugly it up too.:D

The barrel is already freefloated...

There are also pillars in the stock already, I'll do some more testing and I might bed it, but it shoots pretty damn good as it is...

I'll post the pices when its painted

Some times, if it aint broke, its not worth making it worse trying to fix it.
Bedding a rifle doesnt allways make it more accurate. Sometimes the factory bedding does just fine.
I know if it were my 300.00 rifle, I wouldnt touch it.
I'd just work up a dirty load and enjoy it.

Here are a few pics of my old 300 WIn Mag Savage and 243 Abolt painted.

I have a steven in .243 with a bushnell legend 4x12.... 42.3 gr varget with 65gr hornady v-max yields .490 @ 100 yrds, 3491 ft/sec.

This rifle consistently shoots 1/2MOA. Incredible for the price. Im sitting with 5 bills into it, and it shoots almost as good as my cz varmint in .204, with leupold scope on it (2000 bones)

Crrazy eh?
