Stevens 200 long action

I have a Stevens 200 long action center feed 2506 with a shot out barrel. Debating rebarreling and getting a aftermarket stock for it or just buying a new 2506. If I buy a new 2506 then I'll have this action left over. What's the coolest idea someone can come up with to use it for. ?

.473 bolt face long action. I do reload so factory ammo isn't an issue at all
 
Worthless? Nope.. this is the best generation of Savage rifles Savage has made in a very long time. As long as the ejector works, I would rebarrel, drop into a Boyds stock, a bit of tuning and you have a great rifle.

For trigger (if that matters), Rifle basix and timney make great drop in options.

These are have been my base action that I have used in numerous competition and ELR pursuits.

How long of a barrel can be sourced as a prefit in 2506?
I love the cartridge but have always been neutered by the 22" factory barrels
 
that is a great action for a build

they stopped making stevens 200 as those actions were the same as the savage actions but not finished to the same level, and the stevens were cutting into sales

that would work for anything based on the 30-06 cartridge.


I remember buying them for $319 and then anything that fit on a Savage 10/110 was fair game

I have one that I upgraded with a Savage 12 heavy fluted stainless barrel in 22-250 and the stock was off a savage 10 with the removeable mag

10-15 years ago, you could get the Stevens 200 on sale from Cabela's for $269.

I had a few but only a 223 left.

They are much like the Savage 220 slug guns now. Cheaply built but super accurate.
