Stevens 200 question???

I'm not real familiar with Savage and/or Stevens rifles, actions etc....so I have a couple questions...question one, I believe the Stevens 200 matches up with a Savage therefore you can put Savage barrels on a Stevens?? Which Savage barrels go on a Stevens 200, the small shank or large shank?? Second question, the Stevens 200 I have is a 22-250 Rem, looks to be about a 24" sporter barrel if and when I ever do purchase another barrel for it (large or small shank??? to be determined from the above question??) do the barrels all come with the barrel nuts or does the barrel nut just slide off each barrel and you can reuse it on different barrels?? Thanks for any clarification!!
 
stevens 200 is a small or standard shank, most prefit barrels do not come with a barrel nut but the one on the factory barrel will spin off and you can reuse it on the new barrel
 
Same action as a Savage Model 10 so triggers/stocks/barrels are all the same. The primary difference is the Stevens was the budget rifle before the Axis came out so it had no accutrigger, cheap plastic stock and blind magazine.
 
I would suggest going to a forum called savageshooters. They are a wealth of information on Savage rifles. I must warn you! Building and tinkering with Savage rifles is very addictive! I now own 5 center fire and 1 rimfire. I am constantly hunting for parts and rifles on the EE to feed my addiction.
