Found a decent deal on a Stevens 200 in 7mm-08 so it followed me home:). Now looking at scope mount and ring options. So far I'm considering a Ken Farrell one piece scope mount and Burris sig. zee rings. The scope will be a Burris fullfield II 3-9x40.

I'm wondering if the scope will sit a little high with this set up? Would love to hear what those of you that have similar set ups have to say and what others have gone with and opinions.

Thanks in advance and Pictures are always welcome!! :dancingbanana:

I had a Mueller TAC II (3-10 X 44) mounted in Burris Signature Zee rings and a Ken Farrel Steel picatinny rail on a Tikka T3 HB Varmint. No problems at all. Perfect height for me.

I had regular Weaver two piece bases and weaver low rings and an older Leupold 3-9X40 on mine, the bolt just cleared the scope.
I am changing to a Burris Timberline 3-9X32 but need extended rings to fit the two piece bases or a different base.

Cheers

The farrell mount is quite high and the sig zee rings only come in med and hi. You may want the regular zee rings in low, especially if it's a sporter weight barrel. The farrell mount and med zee's would probably mount a 50mm objective on a sporter weight barrel. Usually brownells gives all the heights so you can measure it up. I have a farrell one peice 20moa base on a savage, it measures 0.464" at the front. I like the farrell mounts, I think they are made very well and not too bad for price.

Thanks kinberman, that's what I was afraid of for height. I'm looking at the 0 moa base but still worried it might be a bit high with those rings. It is a sporter barrel and will be used for mainly hunting and some range time. Any other good quality one piece base I should be looking at that would be lower and work well with this scope?

warne maxima steel weavers are good bases, I've used them on remmys, kimbers, mausers, and cooper but I haven't tried them on savage or stevens.
