stevens 200

I'll save you the time it takes to search.

The stevens is a decent rifle for the price. It's a savage with a blind magazine and no accutrigger. I happen to have a 22-250 and it shoots really good. It's sub moa with handloads.

There are some downsides though.
The stock is junk, it's plastic and it is way too flexible for it own good.

The barrel tends to foul easily, I use moly coated bullets so this is less of an issue.

The barrel heats up quick so you'll need to let it cool often when shooting.

It's ugly. Personally this isn't an issue but for some it's the end of the world.

I have about 350 rounds through it and it's performed flawlessly for me. I would buy it again if I had the choice.

Barrel doesn't heat up quick because it is a 200--it heats up quick because it is a sporter weight barrel shooting a 22-250 cartrige. All of the above comments apply--I have a .223 and a 7mm-08 for beater truck guns and both are sub moa shooters. Trigger adjustment is similar to the pre-accutrigger Savage rifles and can be set up to be decent. Action is pillar bedded in the stock and barrel is free floated so the springy forend has no real effect on accuracy unless you have a barrel that requires some forend pressure to shoot well.

Another thing is I notice the barrel on my Model 200 [which is in 7mm-08] is not as thick as the sporter weight barrel on my Rem 700 in 7mm-08. [Same 22" barrel lengths on both rifles]

Lighter barrel = heat up quicker. [Conversely, I wonder if that also means that a lighter barrel will naturally cool faster?]... Food for thought...

Bottom line here though across the board is that the Stevens 200's are accurate and represent extremely good value for the money on those terms.
