Hey,
I was taking apart my new to me Stevens 520-30 Trench gun and noticed that one of the wire springs looked to be out of place. When dry firing I found that the action didn't unlock and I had to do it manually with the release button and I wonder if that out of place spring has something to do with it. I also wonder if the shotgun needs to actually be fired to release the action with recoil somehow. Pulling the pump handle forward a little bit after dry firing to replicate actual firing also didn't unlock the slide.
Could someone that owns one of these great shotguns take a picture of the left side of the trigger group showing the orientation of the wire springs so that I can compare and maybe rig mine up properly? I will try and post a picture of mine tonight for comparison sake.
Cheers,
Ian
