sure buy your self some 2.75 inch federal #5 and shoot them at a card board target about a 6 inch circle at 25 yards and see what kind of pattern you get ,no need for magnums .Dutch

Thanks Dutch . So I don't need mags to hunt turkey with ? That's good to know . I was under the impression I had to .

Thanks

pattern is much more important then power for turkeys .if you can find some good heavy game loads in # 5or 6 shot to check your gun at say 25 yards ,you will be just fine , one shell I have had very good luck with is the old imperial shells high brass purple or blue shell .we used to shoot ducks with them but thy band lead so we now us them for bunnys and turkeys .if you go to your local gun shop and ask what thy have in a 2.75 inch shell in # 4 or 5 ,thy will fix you up ,,Dutch

hey if your gun works us her .most older shotguns with full chokes pattern very well .you may very well have a jem .we us the old win model 12 and rem model 10 for turkey card shots ,thy pattern very well and we win are share of turkey prizes ,shoot your gun at 25 yards and see what you got ,Dutch
