Would like to take apart my Stevens 77B 12GA pump shotgun for reblueing. I am looking for info on where to find schematics and or instructions. Have tried to search the net and have not found what I am looking for.Any insight would be great.
Thanks.
Nate.

Just start takin 'er apart with your digital camera beside you. Record every step and look at he pics in reverse order to put it back together.
That's how I work on vehicles or parts of vehicles that I'm not yet familiar with.

Have fun. I did one a while ago and it was the worst gun I have ever had the experience of taking apart. The pin that held the trigger group in was THE WORST. It was pretty much welded onto the receiver. I curse the day I ever said "Sure, I can clean that. Pay me? No way. I enjoy this type of thing." If anyone ever complains about how crappy their 870 or 500 is try the 77B out.

A gun truly designed by the devil.

I agree. I had one. I bought it thinking, well, the Americans used it in 'Nam, so it must be OK.

Well, there is a reason they don't issue them anymore. They are a PITA to clean and work on. I think they'd be OK for a backup gun or something else that doesn't get shot much, but I'd never buy another one for frequent use.

The one I had did have a nice short barrel and adjustable choke, though, so it was a pretty decent gun for carrying in the woods. I do kinda wish I hadn't sold it cheap.

I have one (model 67f but mostly the same) it works pretty good, no problems yet.
