I have a stevens 77d here with a loose barrel. Now I don't think that it is supposed to be loose as its a thread in barrel and has probably seen lots of use and the threads have gained some slop in them. The barrel will turn about 1/32 of a turn past the point of everything lining up. Any one ever have this problem? I know its not a expensive shotgun but with the god awful polychoke thing on the end of the barrel I don't think gophers will know the difference.

Any one know how to fix it? Believe it or not it looks like someone tried to fix it by using plumbers/Teflon tape on it.

That's about what I was thinking, red Loctite. Or maybe a little I believe vibralock used in automotive like on seatbelt bolts. Or maybe some zaplock.
